Compass Creek through the seasons
A glimpse of Compass Creek through the seasons — a full property video is coming soon.
The Property
Tucked into a private, secluded hollow in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Compass Creek Cabin sits directly beside a clear, rushing mountain creek. Wake up to the sound of water over smooth river stones. Fall asleep under a canopy of old-growth trees and rhododendron.
Just minutes from Lake Chatuge and miles of hiking trails, yet completely private — this is the kind of place that slows time down. Easy to find with no treacherous roads to navigate.

What's Included
We've thought carefully about what makes a mountain stay truly enjoyable — a well-stocked kitchen, roasting skewers for creekside evenings, and games for all ages.
Life at the Creek
The creek runs just steps from the cabin door — close enough to hear from your bed on a still night. Wade in on a hot afternoon, cast a line at dawn, or just sit on the bank and let the sound of moving water do what it does best.

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin! The property is just amazing, especially the serene creek and forest. Cynthia was the most communicative host I've encountered which helped make the trip easy start to finish — including a needed date change last minute! We will definitely be back.
We booked last minute and it turned out to be an absolute gem! Tucked away in a beautifully secluded spot on a peaceful creek — perfect for our family with four small children. The outdoor space was a dream, the kids had a blast with cornhole and frisbee golf, and the hosts thought of everything. If you're looking for a private getaway surrounded by nature but packed with family-friendly fun, this is the place.
Cynthia's place looks just like the photos — probably even better, because the photos don't capture the beautiful sound of the creek or the twinkle of fireflies in the evening. My son didn't even want to leave, he just wanted to play in the creek. The kitchen has everything you need, the TV has Netflix and cable, the beds were great, and the couch was cozy and big enough for all 5 of us. Basically as comfortable as home. The nearby towns are so cute, and Helen is within driving distance — we went twice. Very private, at almost the end of a gravel road. A great place to unplug and relax.
